Detectives investigating a violent robbery at a convenience store have arrested a suspect.
Officers were called to a shop in Barn Croft, Chilwell, after several men threatened a shopkeeper with weapons and stole thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes from behind the counter.
The victim, a man in his seventies, sustained minor injuries during the incident, which took place at around 7.40pm on Saturday 23 September.
It was reported a knife and suspected firearm were used during the incident.
A 28-year-old man was arrested on Thursday morning on suspicion of robbery. He remains in police custody.
Detective Constable Matthew Barnes, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was an appalling crime committed against a man in his seventies and we have been working hard to track down the people responsible. I am pleased we have now been able to arrest a suspect and our investigation will now continue.”
