Police are set to put a teenager before the court after recovering a lock knife from a car.
Officers from the force’s proactive city knife crime team stopped the vehicle in Beechdale Road, Bilborough, and seized the weapon after carrying out searches.
They arrested an occupant on suspicion of possession of a bladed article following the stop on Wednesday afternoon (4 October 2023).
Finlay Bradshaw, aged 19, of Cyril Avenue, Stapleford, has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place. He was released on bail and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 20 October 2023.
Police Constable Adam Scotney, from the city knife crime team, said:
“There is no excuse for carrying weapons and we will always take proportionate action against those involved in such offences.
“The team continues to work all year round to keep people safe and take dangerous weapons off our streets and proactive stops, such as this one, are just one example of our ongoing efforts.”
