A man is due to appear in court after police observed a suspected drug deal taking place in an alleyway.
Officers on patrol in Houseman Gardens, The Meadows, stopped and searched a suspect at around 1.40pm on Friday (15 September) after they watched him meet with two other men in the street.
A large number of wraps of heroin and cocaine, as well as cannabis, cash and two mobile phones, were recovered when officers carried out the search.
Thirty-five-year-old Adam Ward, of no fixed abode, has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of a Class B drug. He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Monday).
Inspector Steve Dalby, neighbourhood policing inspector for city south, said: “Drugs continue to cause huge problems within communities and our stop and search powers remain a vital tool in proactively taking action against suspected dealers.
“It is always good news when we can seize drugs, take them out of circulation and destroy them.
“I am pleased we have charged a suspect and placed him before the court at the earliest opportunity.”
