Man charged after safe containing £4k in cash stolen from tattoo studio

A man has been charged after a safe containing a large quantity of cash was stolen from a Nottingham business.
Officers were called following a break-in at a tattoo studio, in Derby Road, on Sunday 28 July.
A safe containing approximately £4,000 in cash, two high-value cameras and an iPad Pro was stolen from the premises.
A police investigation linked the burglary to two other incidents in Nottingham city centre. These include a break-in at a restaurant in Stoney Street on Sunday 12 May, in which a credit card was stolen and used at nearby shops.
A cash machine in Waverley Street was also vandalised on Sunday 9 June, with attempts to steal cash proving unsuccessful.
Michael Hemmings, of London Road, Nottingham, has been charged with two counts of burglary, attempted theft and failing to comply with a court order.
The 59-year-old appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (8 August) and was granted conditional bail.
He is next due to appear at the same court on 20 September.
