Detectives have charged a man with rape following a serious sexual assault on a teenage boy.
The incident happened at Nottingham’s Forest Recreation Ground around 11.30pm on Thursday 18 July 2024.
The victim was walking through the park when he was subjected to the assault.
Darweesh Mohammed, aged 24, of no fixed abode, has been charged with rape following an extensive investigation by officers.
He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (13 August).
Detective Sergeant Alan Braisby, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The victim and family have been informed of this significant development and we will continue to support them in any way we can.
“Officers have worked extremely hard on the investigation and I’m pleased this suspect has been charged and placed before the courts at the earliest opportunity.”
