A suspected burglar was arrested within minutes of a break-in at a supermarket.
Officers on patrol were called to the store in Radford Boulevard after an intruder alarm was activated around 5am on Friday (30 August).
They discovered a glass door had been smashed and a number of drinks had been stolen.
Officers studied CCTV and supported store staff at the scene before detaining a suspect nearby.
A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Detective Sergeant Toni Smithurst, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The officers who attended this break-in should be commended for their swift and efficient work at the scene.
“We take burglaries at business premises very seriously because we know the impact they can have on employees.
“No one should arrive for a shift to discover broken glass and stolen items at their place of work.”
Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 89 of 30 August 2024, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
