A suspected drug dealer was arrested by police after he was pulled over on suspicion of driving without insurance.
Officers stopped a vehicle in Strelley Road, Bilborough, shortly after 7.30pm on Friday (9 August) and soon noticed a potent smell of cannabis.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a significant quantity of pre-packaged bags of cannabis.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug and failing to comply with a roadside test.
He was later released under investigation.
A local property was also searched, and further evidence was seized.
PC Jake Self, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This vehicle attracted our attention because we had reason to believe it was being driven without insurance.
“Immediately after pulling it over the officers noticed another problem – the very strong smell of cannabis coming from within.
“That led them to a significant drugs seizure and a suspected dealer being taken into custody. Our investigation into this matter will now continue.”
