Police investigating the death of a patient at a mental health facility in Nottingham have charged a suspect in connection with her death.
Nineteen-year-old Louise Furlong died on 12 September 2022 after an incident the previous day at Highbury Hospital.
Sylvia Quaye-Mensah, a nurse who was on duty at the time of the incident, has now been charged with misconduct in a public office.
Quaye-Mensah, 41, of Ilkeston, is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday 30 August.
Detective Inspector Craig Hall, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We have been investigating this incident for some time and have now charged a suspect.
“Louise’s family have been informed of this development and remain in our thoughts.”
