Police investigating a burglary at a charity shop have released images of a person they would like to trace.
Officers were called to Extra Care, at Wilford Lane Retail Park, West Bridgford, on Thursday 7 November following reports of a burglary.
It is believed an intruder used a scaffolding pole to force his way through the roof of the premises after the store closed the previous evening.
The property sustained significant damage that will be costly to repair. Further interior damage was also carried out and cash stolen, with the offender fleeing via a fire exit.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking for the public’s help.
Sergeant Ryan Rowe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We have been pursuing a number of lines of inquiry, including checking CCTV footage, to trace the person responsible for this burglary.
“It’s very sad that someone would stoop so low as to steal from a charity - one that is trying to raise funds in order to support others.
“This was a heartless and callous burglary and we are determined to catch this offender as soon as possible and bring him to justice.
“To help us with our ongoing investigation, I would urge anyone who recognises the person in these images to please contact us as soon as possible.
"We are also keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the burglary. The incident happened at a busy retail park and it’s likely someone saw something that could assist the investigation.”
If you have any information or witnessed the incident, please call 101 and quote incident number 76 of 7 November 2024.
