Dramatic arrest after driver rams police cars

The dramatic arrest of a suspect detained by armed officers after he rammed into police cars is captured in tonight’s brand new episode of Police Interceptors. 

Firearms officers and other police units quickly responded after receiving information a man suspected to have been involved in a serious assault was at an address in the Sherwood area of Nottingham.

They came across a Volkswagen Transporter van which rammed into a police car before being driven off at speed.

The van driver then led police on a chase during which he hit speeds of 70mph in a 30mph zone, drove through red lights and reversed into a police vehicle. 

However, his efforts to evade justice were in vain after officers made tactical contact with the front of the van and he was arrested.

As well as reliving this dramatic incident, tonight’s action-packed episode of Police Interceptors also captures some excellent work by Nottinghamshire Police’s dedicated knife crime team who catch a man with a large bag of drugs stuffed down his boxer shorts after they stopped a car.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist makes a costly mistake after trying to get away from officers in the Mansfield area. Following a police vehicle and foot pursuit he is soon tracked down and put in handcuffs.

The consequences of his actions don’t stop there as his bike gets seized by officers and later gets crushed.
