A drug dealer who ran a lucrative operation has been locked up after police carried out a coordinated raid at his home.
When officers searched Thomas Wilson’s address, in Belconnen Road, Bestwood, they seized £3,000 in cash found in his bedroom, two bags of cannabis weighing 55.37g, two mobile phones, a quantity of frozen powdered cannabis, digital scales, and other drug paraphernalia.
Drug-related messages were found on the devices as well as dealer lists, suggesting the 27-year-old was involved in the onward supply of cannabis.
Wilson was arrested during the warrant, executed on 6 July 2021, and was subsequently charged.
He went on to plead guilty to supplying cannabis, between 1 August 2020 and 6 July 2021.
Wilson also admitted charges of possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of cannabis, on 6 July 2021, and was found to have breached a suspended sentence order.
He was locked up for a total of 20 months when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing on Monday (12 February 2024).
Inspector Paul Ferguson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Although Wilson denied any involvement in the onward supply of drugs from his address, when he was initially interviewed by police, the weight of evidence against him was overwhelming following our proactive raid.
“Wilson directed the buying and selling of cannabis on a commercial scale, preying on vulnerable people to make money from his illegal enterprise, so I’m pleased we were able to bring him to justice through the court.
“As a Force we remain determined to drive down the supply of illicit drugs in Nottinghamshire and arrest those who think they can act above the law. We will pursue them relentlessly and prosecute those who seek to deal drugs and profit from other people’s misery.”
