A delivery driver grappled with a robber who jumped into his van and drove off.
The victim, who was reportedly hanging off the driver’s door as he tried to stop the offender driving off, was eventually thrown from his vehicle.
He suffered minor injuries following the incident which happened as he was making deliveries in Pierrepont Road in West Bridgford, near the junction of Trent Boulevard, around 6.50pm on Friday 15 December 2023.
It’s believed the van collided with six other vehicles as the robber drove off towards Holme Road without stopping or giving way.
The vehicle was found abandoned around 20 minutes later in Albert Road, West Bridgford.
Police are working hard to trace the offender and as part of their ongoing inquiries are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Investigator Adam Karimjee, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Nottingham Forest were playing that night and CCTV shows there were lots of people parking their vehicles up in the area and walking to the City Ground.
“The incident attracted a lot of attention and people can be seen looking at what is happening. The area was busy when this incident occurred, and we believe there are potential key witnesses that have yet to come forward.
