Drug dealer jailed after police car stops

A drug dealer caught peddling cocaine twice in a matter of weeks has been jailed.

Police were on patrol in Sutton-in-Ashfield on 3 November 2023 when they spotted Neil Bramley at the wheel of a BMW.

They pulled the car over on the A38 as intelligence suggested it was involved in the supply of drugs.

When a search of the vehicle took place, officers seized 40 bags of cocaine, mobile phones and cash.

Just 15 days later the same BMW was sighted in the car park of a supermarket, in Priestsic Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, and was stopped in Stoneyford Road.

Once again Bramley was at the wheel and searches revealed he was carrying bags of cocaine.

The 33-year-old, of Swanson Avenue, Huthwaite, was jailed for two years and eight months when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing on Tuesday (25 June).

He had pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.

“That is why officers on patrol in our neighbourhoods will always be on the look out for those looking to make a profit by selling drugs on the streets to vulnerable people.”
