A suspect was arrested and a firearm recovered after a disturbance in Nottingham.
Officers attended an incident on Roden Street, St Ann’s, at 4.22am on Sunday. They were then made aware of a disturbance nearby on Lowdham Street at 5am.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public order and firearms offences before being taken to hospital for treatment for a gunshot wound to his foot.
His injures are not life-threatening in nature.
A handgun was recovered from the scene and has been taken away for further examination.
Detective Sergeant Simon Carter, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“As the public would expect, we are treating this incident extremely seriously and are working hard to understand exactly what happened. To this end I encourage any additional witnesses to this incident to come forward by calling 101 and quoting incident 105 of 2 June 2024.”
