A suspect has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged over a violent assault on a 71-year-old man.
The victim was allegedly punched to the face, causing him to fall to the floor, during the incident which happened in Radford Road, Hyson Green.
He was taken to hospital for treatment after suffering facial fractures.
Following inquiries, officers subsequently arrested a man in connection with the incident which happened at around 11.45am on Wednesday 19 June 2024.
Tyrone Rowe, aged 40, of Southey Street, Radford, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 20 June 2024.
Rowe, who was charged with causing grievous bodily harm without intent, was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 18 July 2024.
Detective Sergeant Franco Guddemi, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a nasty assault and I hope our response in locating, arresting, and charging this suspect provides reassurance to the community that we will always investigate serious crimes of this nature and put suspects before the court at the earliest opportunity.”
