A suspected cannabis grower has appeared in court following some good work by city west officers.
The neighbourhood policing team shut down a grow in Mapledene Crescent, Wollaton, on Wednesday (6 November) afternoon.
After forcing their way into the property through the front door, the officers discovered 69 cannabis plants growing across two rooms.
A man found within one of the growing areas was detained at the scene by the city west neighbourhood policing team officers.
All the Class B drugs found inside the building and the equipment used to facilitate the grow was removed by the cannabis dismantling team.
Stiljano Fasko, of Nottingham Road, Old Basford, has been charged with the production of Class B drugs.
The 28-year-old appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (7 November), where he was remanded in custody.
He is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 5 December 2024.
Sergeant Georgina Northwood, of Nottinghamshire Police’s city west neighbourhood policing team, said:
“This warrant provided a good reminder of how important it is that people continue to relay information about potential crime to us.
“Thanks to the intelligence passed on to us that this property could be potentially housing a cannabis grow, we were able to move in and shut it down.
“Due to the electrical modifications that are usually made to power these grows, they represent a very real fire hazard, which is clearly not good for anyone living nearby.
“We’re therefore very pleased to have been able to take action in this instance and put a suspect before the courts.”
