An investigation is underway after a stabbing in Nottingham city centre.
Officers were called to High Street shortly after 4am this morning (Sunday) after a teenager was attacked.
He was taken to hospital and is in a critical condition.
A cordon remains in place and trams are currently unable to pass through the area.
Chief Inspector Iain Blackstock, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This assault left a young person in hospital with a stab wound to his chest.
“Our investigation is still at an early stage and we are working hard to establish exactly what happened.
“We are working in the area to gather evidence and would also like to speak to any witnesses who have yet to come forward. If you saw this attack or anything at all suspicion in the moments before and after we would like to hear from you.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 90 of 17 November 2024. Reports can also be made anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
