Detectives investigating a knifepoint robbery have placed a suspect before the courts.
The victim was walking along Hucknall Road, Nottingham, around 5.40pm on Sunday (17 November) when he was approached by a youth who asked if he had any money.
He reported being shown a knife, threatened and marched to a cashpoint but did not have his bank card.
The victim was then ordered to transfer cash online before the offender left the scene.
Police worked quickly and arrested a suspect a short time later at his home. Officers also found cannabis during searches.
A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with robbery, possession of a knife in a public place and possession of a Class B drug.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (19 November) and was bailed with strict conditions until his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 26 February 2025.
Detective Sergeant Rob Palethorpe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The officers on duty should be commended for their swift and efficient work in tracking down a suspect.
“We know street robberies like this can be a frightening experience for any victim.
“That is why the force has teams of detectives working hard to bring offenders to justice while supporting victims.”
