A suspect has been arrested after a man suffered serious injuries following a stabbing in the street.
Police were called to Marmion Road, Mapperley, around 6.25pm on Sunday (27 October) after reports a teenager was being chased by a group of youths who were trying to rob him.
A man, who is known to the teenager, suffered a stab wound to the stomach a short time later after intervening in nearby Beecham Avenue.
He remains in hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on Thursday (31 October) on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in police custody.
Officers also arrested a 58-year-old woman on suspicion of aiding and abetting an offence and criminal damage. She has been bailed as investigations continue.
Detective Sergeant Hannah Frame, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We know this incident caused concern in the neighbourhood so I’m pleased we can share this important update.
“Dedicated teams of officers have been working hard on the investigation by analysing CCTV footage, carrying out house-to-house inquiries and using all the other investigative tools at our disposal.
“Neighbourhood teams have also been deployed on additional patrols to support the community.
“A man remains in hospital having suffered a serious injury and it is still vital that anyone with information comes forward and shares it with officers.
"I'd urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any relevant CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone or dashcam footage, to get in touch with police.”
Anyone with any information should call 101, quoting incident number 562 of 27 October 2024, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
