Neighbourhood police arrested a suspected drug dealer and discovered cannabis was being grown inside a home when they carried out a raid.
The city south neighbourhood policing team executed a warrant at a semi-detached house in Clarewood Grove, Clifton, Nottingham, at 7.50am on Thursday (10 October).
Officers were investigating the property due to suspected links to drug activity in the neighbourhood.
They found quantities of suspected Class A drugs and cannabis in various rooms of the property.
Cannabis plants were also discovered hanging from the ceiling of one of the bedrooms.
A 35-year-old man who was found inside the house was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug and possession of a Class A drug.
Sergeant Simon Reid, of the neighbourhood team, said:
“Cracking down on drug activity is a neighbourhood priority in Clifton and intelligence-led warrants like this help us keep one step ahead of the dealers.
“Officers have been investigating this property’s suspected links to criminal activity in the community over recent weeks.
“It was no surprise to find evidence of drug dealing inside when we forced open the door. The property was also being used to grow cannabis.
“I would urge anyone who believes drug dealing or cannabis cultivation is taking place in their community to get in touch. Your information could be a vital missing piece of the jigsaw which allows us to take positive action.
“Our investigation into this incident is ongoing, and anyone with any information should call 101, quoting incident number 68 of 10 October 2024, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
