A teenager has appeared in court following a stabbing in the street.
Police attended Oakdale Road, Bakersfield, Nottingham, at 12.41pm last Friday (23 August) after a man received a stab wound to his arm.
The victim suffered injuries which were not life-threatening and was treated in hospital.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Monday (26 August) and has now been charged with committing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (28 August) and will next appear at the same court on 18 December 2024.
Detective Inspector Chris Berryman, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thankfully, the victim was not seriously hurt, but we know any incident involving a knife has the potential to result in very grave consequences.
“I hope the community is comforted by a robust police response which has resulted in this suspect being placed before the courts.”
