A teenage boy has been arrested after a collision between a motorcycle and a car.
The off-road style bike was being ridden along Wilford Lane, West Bridgford, at about 5pm yesterday (Thursday) when the incident happened.
The female pillion passenger sustained head injuries and is being treated in hospital.
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving, driving whilst unfit through drugs, and possessing cannabis.
The driver of the car was spoken to at the scene but was not injured.
Police are appealing for any additional witnesses to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Paul Clark, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:
“This incident left a young woman in hospital with significant injuries.
“We are currently working to understand exactly what happened in the moments leading up to this collision and ask any witnesses who have not yet spoken to us to come forward without delay.”
