Three police dogs have been praised after chasing down and sniffing out four suspects in the space of 24 hours.
PD’s Rambo, Rocket and Max excelled themselves of the weekend as they and their handlers leant their unique skills to three emergency callouts.
PD Max and his handler were first into action at about 5pm on Saturday afternoon, when they were called to reports of a man committing acts of criminal damage in Nuthall.
With the suspect having gone to ground, Max was deployed to search gardens in The Paddocks and soon found a 36-year-old man in a shed who was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.
Not to be outdone by his colleague, PD Rocket then found a suspect lying in a hedge in a back garden in Carlton.
He and his handler had been called in after a suspect fled from the passenger seat of a car in Standhill Road at about 730pm.

Officers lost sight of him as he jumped over fences, but he was unable to escape the attentions of PD Rocket.
On that occasion, a 19-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault and possessing cannabis.
Finally it was left to PD Rambo to cap an excellent weekend for Dog Section, as he and his handler chased down and detained two suspected car thieves.
The pair had been called to Main Street, Bulwell, at about 4.30am on Sunday after reports of attempted break-ins and immediately spotted fleeing suspects.
Rambo was deployed and quickly chased down and detained one of the suspects.
Another, thinking better of a foot-race with the speedy Belgian Malinois, quickly gave himself up.
A screwdriver, gloves and hammer were recovered during a subsequent search.
Two boys, aged 17 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of theft and going equipped to steal.

Sergeant Nicholas Dachtler, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Our general-purpose police dogs are trained to use their noses and their immense speed to bring suspects to heel and to keep the public safe.
“Over the course of the weekend three different dogs and their handlers did an outstanding job to bring these skills to bear in three different situations and all should be proud of their actions."
