A special event celebrating Rwandan culture has been held in Nottingham, with neighbourhood officers helping to make it a memorable occasion.
More than 400 Rwandans from across the country took part in Rwanda Cultural Day 2025, held at The Atrium in Carrington on Saturday (22 February).
The fun-filled evening was held to celebrate Rwandan culture with traditional music, dance and cuisine.
Members of the Radford Road neighbourhood policing team went along to learn more about the Rwanda community.
PCSO Lucy Oram said:
“It was a great opportunity to learn more about Rwandan traditions and to get to know those living here in Nottingham.
“Neighbourhood policing is about getting to know the local communities where we police and working with residents to solve local problems, so it’s really important we attend events such as this.
“The evening was a huge success – we spoke to so many people including those from Nottingham but also people who had travelled from as far south as Plymouth and right across the country to Newcastle.
“Thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome.”
