Police seized a zombie-style knife and arrested a man after being called to a disturbance at a flat.
Officers attended the address in Bath Street, Nottingham, around 12.35am on Tuesday (28 January).
After entering the property they found the weapon next to a sofa.
There was no evidence it had been used to harm anyone.
A 30-year-old man, who was inside the flat, has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
Inspector Andrew Hallam, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We’re pleased to have seized this weapon, taken it out of harm’s way and arrested a suspect.
“The officers who attended should be commended for their alertness when attending the incident.
“Storing a zombie-style knife in a private place is an offence under the Offensive Weapons Act.
“It’s important that anyone who owns one of these knives, along with other offensive weapons like knuckledusters, curved swords, or extendable batons, hands them over to the police so they don’t get into trouble.”
