Detectives are appealing for additional witnesses to come forward after reports that a large knife was brandished during a disturbance.
Police were called at 4.25pm yesterday to the car park of the Ladybay Retail Park, in Meadow Lane, Nottingham, after a confrontation between a group of suspects.
A 19-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing a Class A drug.
Nobody was hurt and an investigation into what happened is ongoing.
Detective Inspector Julian Eminson-Ferry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a significant disturbance that we know was witnessed by multiple people.
“We have been working overnight to understand exactly what happened in the moments before, during and after this incident, and have spoken with several witnesses.
“It is vital, however, that we hear directly from every person who saw this incident unfold.
“Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital in this investigation.”
Anyone with additional information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 479 of 29 January 2025. Information can also be given in confidence via Crimestoppers.
