Two robbery suspects have been tracked down and arrested by police.
Officers were called to Shortwood Close, Nottingham city centre, after a teenage girl was assaulted.
The victim was reportedly punched and kicked by two people – who then took her phone and fled from the scene.
She sustained injuries to her face during the attack, which happened around 4.20pm on Monday (27 January).
After conducting local inquiries, officers visited an address in Loughborough a few hours later, where they located a pair of suspects.
An 18-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were both subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Detective Sergeant Frank Guddemi, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a horrible attack on a teenage girl, who was understandably left shaken up as a result.
“Robbery is an incredibly serious offence that can leave a lasting emotional impact on anyone targeted.
“It’s important therefore that any reports are responded to by the police in a quick and focused manner that befits this seriousness.
“Bearing this in mind, we’re pleased to have been able to track down and arrest two suspects in connection with this incident.
“We want to stress however, that we’re still investigating this, so would urge anyone who saw what happened, or has any CCTV, mobile, dash-cam, or other type of footage, to share it with us.
“This can be reported to the police on 101, quoting incident 490 of 27 January 2025, while Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
