A man has been warned he faces jail if he commits another breach of a court order that bans him from parts of Nottingham city centre.
Liam Meenan, aged 39, was handed a Criminal Behaviour Order in July 2024 that banned him from various premises for three years.
Officers from the City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team sought the order to protect businesses and the public after he stole goods, harassed people and exposed himself in public.
Under the terms of the order, Meenan, of no fixed address, was prohibited from entering a host of places including Broadway Cinema in Broad Street (pictured).
However he entered the cinema twice in recent days, including January 10 and 18.
Meenan was arrested and charged with two breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order.
He pleaded guilty and was jailed for four weeks, suspended for six months, after appearing at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (20 January).
It means he faces prison if he commits any further breaches in the next six months.
PCSO Solomon Clark, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We obtained the Criminal Behaviour Order as Meenan had been tormenting a number of businesses and members of the public.
“It is disappointing Meenan failed to comply with the order but I hope businesses are reassured by our robust response in putting him back before the courts.
“These orders do have teeth and Meenan will find himself behind bars if his poor behaviour continues.”
