Quick-acting response officers made a double arrest within minutes of a burglary report coming in.
Police were alerted after loud banging was heard coming from a property in Gregory Boulevard, Hyson Green.
Believing a break-in could be taking place at the address, officers rushed to the area just before 1.30am on Sunday (19 January).
The property’s doors were found to be damaged, while a moped parked outside in the back garden was missing a battery as well.
Police then conducted a search of the area, at which pointed they located multiple suspects outside a property a couple of doors down.
One of them had a battery like the one taken from the moped in their possession, while another one had a pair of plyers and a brick.
Believing they could be involved in the incident down the road, the duo – two boys aged 14 and 16 – were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, theft and criminal damage.
The 16-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft of a motor vehicle.
Sergeant Lee Wilson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Thanks to the officers involved in this incident, we were able to provide a police response within minutes of this call coming in.
“After arriving at the scene, the officers conducted a quick search of the nearby area, which ultimately led to two suspects being identified and arrested for a series of alleged offences.
“Burglary is an incredibly serious offence, so as a force we will always look to do whatever we can to respond quickly to reports of a break-in and take positive action.”
