Police arrested three suspects and seized a machete after being called to a Nottingham home.
Officers attended Bracebridge Drive, Bilborough, around 9.25pm on Sunday (12 January) following reports of a break-in at a flat.
A group of youths were seen attempting to flee the address.
Following a search of the area and other inquiries three suspects were arrested and remain in custody.
Officers found a machete inside a bag within the flat.
Three boys, aged 15, 15 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
One of the 15-year-olds was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug after cannabis was found during searches.
The victim reported that a watch had been stolen and this was later recovered at the rear of the property.
Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The officers who attended the scene should be commended for making these arrests promptly and recovering the machete.
“It is always pleasing to take a dangerous weapon like this out of harm’s way.
“Our investigation into this incident is at an early stage and we’d ask anyone with any information to come forward without delay.”
Anyone who can assist should call police on 101, quoting incident number 531 of 12 January 2024, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
