An investigation is underway after a man was pronounced dead yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Lombard Street, Newark, after 5pm yesterday (16 June), following a reported medical emergency concerning a man behind the wheel of a car.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is now being treated as a murder investigation, and detectives are urging witnesses to come forward with any information they may have.
Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time, and they will be supported by our specially trained officers.
“A team of detectives is now working to understand exactly what happened in the time before and during this incident.
“To this end they want to hear from anyone who saw or heard any part of what happened.
“Anyone with information about this incident should call 101 quoting incident 547 of 16 June 2025. Information can also be passed in confidence to Crimestoppers.”
