Suspects in custody after items stolen from one city shop are located at another store

Two suspects have been arrested and charged with theft offences after board games were swiped from a Nottingham store.

Police were called to The Dice Cup in Mansfield Road on Tuesday 29 April at 3.40pm after thieves entered the premises and stole two board games worth £100.

Two men have then attempted to sell the board games at second-hand exchange store CEX. Police have then been called.

McKenzie Hayes-Brown, aged 20, of Mansfield Road, and Joshua Cook, aged 27, of Thurman Street were both arrested and charged with theft from a shop.

They have both been remanded into custody.

Sergeant Christopher Johnson, from the neighbourhood policing team in Nottingham city centre, said:

“We take all reports of retail crime extremely seriously in the city centre. We know the impact these types of crimes have on our business community.

“Our stores are joined up and thanks to these close links, we could trace exactly where the items ended up.

“Hopefully this sends out a strong warning to those who think they can steal from our city shops and businesses and try and cash in at second-hand stores.

“We have quickly arrested and charged two suspects in connection with this incident. Both have been remanded into custody.”
