New fast-track route into policing for Special Constables
Are you a Special Constable looking to become a police officer? You’re in the right place.
Nottinghamshire Police has launched an exciting scheme that enables active Special Constables to join the force directly, without having to pass the national online assessment centre (OAC).
That means that if successful through the application process, candidates can quickly transition into becoming fully-fledged police officers without going through the traditional application process.
Current serving Special Constables interested in this opportunity must hit certain criteria in order to apply, which are;
- You will need to be a Serving Special Constable
- Assessed as being suitable for independent patrol, against SOLAP or equivalent, and be able to show full and consistent operational competency
- You will have been assessed as being able to conduct independent patrol and complete a minimum of 200 hours per annum
- Your officer safety training and fitness testing needs to be up to date and evidence provided of this
