Sneinton and Dales Priority October 2018 - Drugs and ASB

Share by emailShare by email
October 2018

Following recent mutli agency meetings and due to reports recieved it has been decided that the community priority for Snienton and the Dales should be ASB and drug related offences.

The Neighbourhood Police Team will be working with our partners to ensure that nuisance properties and drugs and ASB hot spots are quickly identified and all the aspects are tackled. An example of where this approach has been sucessful is the closure order of a property on Manor Street which was being frequented and used for taking drugs. This had an effect on the surrounding area with used needles and drugs paraphernalia being found on the street and the local childrens play area having to be closed. The police executed a warrant at the address and the Community Protection team applied for, and sucessfully obtained, a Closure Order on the premises. The drugs paraphernalia was removed part of a clean up by the Council which included the foliage being cut back on the steps on Lees Hill.

The Neighbourhood Team continue to listen to residents concerns and act wherever possible to tackle drugs and ASB issues in the Sneinton area.

As a result of concerns over speeding vehicles the Sneinton Neighbourhood Team have undertook an operation today (25/10/2018) to tackle speeding motorists and other road related offences.

If you have any concerns over issues in your neighbourhood please speak to your Neighbourhood Policing Team or contact the Nottinghamshire police on 101 or by Twitter or Facebook. In the case of emergency please use the 999 number.
