Work awareness days: 14 to 18 year olds

Our aim

The aim of  the work awareness days is to enable individuals to gain an insight into everyday life within the police family, providing two-day long placements based at Sherwood Lodge - our Force Headquarters - in Arnold.

Each placement is held within a classroom-based environment and can accommodate up to 20 to 25 students, we run two of these placements a year.

The work experience will see various departments from across the force giving interactive talks and sessions to students. These departments include the Dog Section, Response, Firearms and the Citizens in Policing Department.

This placement will provide individuals with essential life skills required to support them moving forward to achieve their end goal.

Our process

  • Please liaise through your school who will contact us to arrange the work awareness days. Alternatively please email citizensinpolicing@nottinghamshire.pnn.police.uk for information directly.
  • You will then be sent an application form and other forms to capture the information we require.
  • You will then be sent the joining instructions so you know what to do on the days.
