Nottinghamshire Police has now established our own apprenticeship programme, with the aim of recruiting a number of apprentices in various roles across the police service.

Apprenticeships offer a fantastic opportunity of learning a career whilst being employed. You will earn a salary, gain experience and develop new skills as well as create a wide range of opportunities for your future.

As a Nottinghamshire Police apprentice, we will support you to meet your full potential with practical and academic training, alongside developing your workplace skills enabling you to succeed in your role and beyond. In addition and on completion of your ‘staff apprenticeship’ you will be in a position to apply for further opportunities beyond your apprenticeship to further your education and career.

Who can apply?

The apprenticeship scheme is open to individuals who are 18 and above. Applicants who are 17 at the time of applying must be 18 when commencing their apprenticeship with Nottinghamshire Police.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • GCSEs including Maths and English or equivalent
  • A-Levels or equivalent preferred but not essential unless stated
  • A positive attitude and an enthusiasm to develop and learn

How long is the apprenticeship and what is the pay?

Depending on your chosen apprenticeship, Nottinghamshire Police apprentices will be employed on a 12 to 24 month contract. The working week is 37 hours and as a living wage employer we offer a competitive rate of £15K to £18K p.a. subject to evaluation and your chosen apprenticeship qualification.

What is the recruitment process?

This apprenticeship programme will be open to individuals who have the drive, ambition and desire to contribute to the success of the organisation.

As part of the application process candidates are required to complete all questions on the expression of interest form along with a 500 word supporting statement.

  • Face to Face Interview
  • Pre-employment Checks
  • References, Medical questionnaire
  • Final offer of apprenticeship
  • In force introduction and start date

If you are successfully shortlisted the next stage will be an interview and should you successfully pass the interview you will be given a conditional offer subjected to the following:

  • Vetting (link to vetting information document)
  • References
  • Medical Questionnaire.
