Stay safe at parties

Share by emailShare by email

Hi, I'm Mikey. I love going to parties. They can be great fun.

But there are some things you should know about going to parties to keep you safe.

If you're going to a party without your mum and dad they might worry about you.

Make sure you tell them these things before going out to a party with your friends.

  • Where are you going?
  • Who will you be with?
  • What time will you be back?
  • How are you getting home?
  • Do you know your mum and dad's or carers phone numbers?
  • Do you or a friend have a mobile phone or money for a payphone if you need to call someone?

Trust your own feelings. If you know something is wrong but somebody is pressurising you into making a bad decision, say no, mean no and walk away.

If you find yourself in a scary or upsetting situation, walk away and tell someone you can trust.

Phone your mum or dad or carer and ask them to meet you.

Stay with your friends or close to people rather than being seperated on your own.

In a real emergency where you think you or your friends are in danger call 999. You don't need any money on a mobile phone or in a payphone to call 999.
