ID and Proof of Residency

To comply with UK Legislation, you must provide proof of identity, a list of accepted ID is below. You will also need to provide proof off address issued within last three months.

Acceptable proof of address could include a utility bill or a bank statement with your name and address clearly displayed.

Proof of identification accepted:

• A passport showing the holder is a British citizen or the UK and Colonies having the right of abode in the UK
• A passport or passport card showing that the holder is a national of the Republic of Ireland
• A current document issued by the Home Office to a family member of an EEA or Swiss citizen, and which indicates that the holder is permitted to stay in the UK indefinitely
• A current Biometric Immigration Document (Biometric Residence Permit) issued by the Home Office to the holder indicating that the person named is allowed to stay indefinitely in the UK or has no time limit on their stay in the UK
• A current passport endorsed to show that the holder is exempt from immigration control, is allowed to stay indefinitely in the UK, has the right of above in the UK, or has no time limit on their stay in the UK
• A birth or adoption certificate issued in the UK, together with an official document giving the person’s permanent National Insurance number and their name issued by a government agency or previous employer
• A birth or adoption certificate issued in the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or Ireland, together with an official document giving the person’s permanent National Insurance number and their name issued by a government agency or a previous employer
• A certificate or registration or naturalisation as a British citizen, together with an official document giving the person’s permanent National Insurance number and their name issued by a government agency or previous employer

Right to Work Share Code:

• If you send in proof of ID from any of the countries listed below, you need to share with us your Right to Work Share Code
• Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden

Proof of residency:

A proof of residency document is also required, which needs to be dated within the last three months.

• Utility bill (water, gas or electricity)
• Local authority tax bill
• UK full or provisional driving license
• Financial statement (e.g., bank statement)
• Payslip for a UK based job
• Local authority council tax bill for the current council tax year
