A police helicopter, dog unit and stinger are all deployed as officers close the net on a suspect who ends up driving into a field in a desperate bid to evade capture.
A pursuit commences after a suspicious car, suspected to be on false plates, is initially spotted in the Mansfield area before being picked up again, with the driver failing to stop.
The vehicle is stung but the driver swerves off into a field off the A617, damaging a gate and causing thousands of pounds worth of damage to a large area of crops, before two occupants make a run for it.
But they don’t make it far as police units work together to track them down, with the driver being detained by Police Dog Wolf and the passenger being put in cuffs after the police’s eye in the sky hones in on him.
The incident is featured in tonight’s brand new episode of Police Interceptors which also showcases the proactive work of Nottinghamshire’s Roads Crime Team as police vehicles work together to box in a car believed to be linked to the supply of drugs.
A man is arrested and after the driver and vehicle are searched, officers seize more than 100 wraps of suspected Class A drugs and a large quantity of cash.
Meanwhile, police officers stop a drink driver in his tracks and sniff out a suspected drug driver during a traffic stop.
All this and more will be featured on Channel 5 at 8pm.
