Officers are appealing for the victim of an assault to come forward.
The young man in question was assaulted in Church Side, Mansfield, at around 2.30am on Saturday 23 May.
The incident was captured on CCTV and two men were later arrested on suspicion of assault.
Attempts to trace the victim are ongoing and officers are now issuing a public appeal to find him.
He is described as white with dark parted hair, and was wearing a white t-shirt, light grey shorts and white trainers at the time of the incident.
PC Thomas Wood, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
"This was a nasty assault that was called into us by a CCTV operator. The victim left the scene a short time later but has yet to report this incident to us.
"We are now appealing for him or anyone who knows him to come forward and tell us what happened."
