Officers investigating an assault at a busy traffic junction in Sutton-in-Ashfield have appealed for additional witnesses to come forward.
The victim, a man in his late 50s, was left with serious injuries after the incident at the Hamilton Road junction of the A617 Sherwood Way South at around 4pm on Friday 15 May.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and is currently on police bail.
PC Abby Mason, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
"This incident happened at a busy junction of a major road and is likely to have been seen by several members of the public.
"If that includes you, we want to speak to you without delay – particularly if you have any dashcam footage of the altercation.
"In incidents like this people often assume that others will come forward; or that the information they have may not be significant.
"I want to stress that any information – no matter how trivial it may seem – could prove vital to this investigation."
