A suspected drug dealer tried to evade arrest by running into the bathroom when Mansfield officers executed a warrant at his address.
However, our officers are very familiar with these tactics, and they uncovered two bags of suspected heroin rammed inside the bathroom waste pipe.
Not only did they find evidence of Class A drugs, but they also uncovered a large quantity of cash, which has now been seized.
But the catalogue of suspected criminal activity did not stop there when they found bundles of unlicensed medication which can be used for weight loss treatment and an offensive weapon, a knuckle duster.
Officers executed the warrant and carried out a search at the address in Cavendish Road on Wednesday 10 June just before 12pm.
A 53-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences.
These include being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug (heroin), possession of an offensive weapon (knuckle duster) and the supply of unlicensed medication.
Mobile phones have also been seized from the address and work is now underway to determine the scale of this operation.
Neighbourhood Inspector Katie Eustace said:
"Drugs such as heroin completely ruin lives and our neighbourhoods.
"Those responsible for dealing these types of drugs bring complete misery to the area where they live.
"Thanks to community intelligence, we were able to execute a warrant at an address in Cavendish Road and shut down this operation for good.
"Not only did we take away their drugs; we took away a large quantity of cash and have seized their mobile phones.
"We are now working to discover the full scale of this operation and put them both before the courts.
"If you believe someone in your neighbourhood is dealing drugs to fund their lifestyle then please get in touch.
"We will use all the powers at our disposal to make sure we take away their ill-gotten gains and make sure your neighbourhood is free from this behaviour."
