Burglar Brinsley Forester fleeing with the stolen bag
A persistent opportunistic burglar has been jailed after walking into an Airbnb and helping himself to a backpack full of jewellery.
Brinsley Forrester was caught on CCTV footage dipping into properties in Holborn Avenue, Sneinton, Nottingham, around 4.30pm on 31 July last year.
The 34-year-old tried a number of door handles before finding one which was open.
After being confronted by the homeowner at that door he went across the road and entered a second property.
Forrester was seen to exit the address minutes later carrying a bag and ran off down the street.
The victim reported jewellery, a phone and an iPad were in the bag and had been stolen.

Forrester pleaded guilty to burglary and was jailed for two-and-a-half years at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday (17 March).
Forrester has 19 convictions for acquisitive crimes like theft and burglary.
Detective Constable Henry James, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Forrester has an unenviable criminal record and this incident is typical of his opportunistic offending.
“Any report of burglary is taken very seriously by officers because we understand the impact a break-in can have on victims.
“People feel violated by strangers trespassing on their personal property in the way Forrester has done.
“We have teams of detectives working hard to catch and convict burglars by using a wide range of investigative techniques.
“The case is another timely reminder to keep your property as secure as possible as we head towards the warmer summer months.”
