Appeal after serious assault outside rave

Detectives are appealing for information after a man suffered serious head injuries following an assault outside a Nottingham music venue.

Emergency services were called to The Nest, in Iremonger Road, at 12.30am today (31 August) following reports the man had been attacked outside a rave event.

The victim, aged in his 40s, was knocked unconscious by another man who then fled from the scene.

Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives are investigating the incident by analysing CCTV footage and conducting other local inquiries.

They also want to speak to anyone who was at the rave last night, or in Iremonger Road around this time, and has any information which could assist.

Detective Inspector Louise Bradford, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

"A man has suffered serious injuries as a result of this attack and we are working hard to understand exactly what happened.

"We know there were several hundred people in attendance at the event and believe there will have been a significant number of witnesses.

"If you saw anything which could help with our investigation, please get in touch without delay."
