Ashfield Neighbourhood Policing Team Policing Priorities: October - December 2026
Our Local Priorities
For the period October - December 2026, the Hucknall Neighbourhood Policing Team will focus on the following priorities:
1. Knife crime and violence
2. Drug dealing and associated Anti‑Social Behaviour (ASB)
3. Dangerous use of electric or illegal vehicles.
How Our Priorities Are Chosen
The priorities for the Ashfield Neighbourhood Policing Team are reviewed every three months at a multi‑agency partnership meeting. This meeting is attended by:
• Local authority representatives
• Problem‑solving specialists
• Neighbourhood policing teams
The review considers a range of information sources, including:
• Police crime recording and intelligence systems
• Data provided by the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office
• Public feedback from the “What Matters” survey, submitted via Notts Alert
This approach ensures that the issues most affecting our communities are identified and addressed. The priorities selected do not detract from our responsibility to deal with other local or force‑wide priorities.
Why These Priorities Have Been Chosen
1. Knife Crime and Violence
Weapon‑enabled violence has a significant impact on victims and the wider community. Unfortunately, this remains an issue within Ashfield, and it is one that we take extremely seriously.
2. Drug Dealing and Related ASB
We continue to receive reports of anti‑social behaviour across Ashfield. Investigations show that a proportion of this ASB is linked to drug supply. Drug dealing is known to fuel violent crime and retail crime, directly impacting our other priorities.
3. Dangerous use of electric or illegal vehicles.
The use of these vehicles commonly called e-bikes or e-scooters is currently a national topic of conversation. During our community events, and conversations with you, it is an issue that is consistently mentioned. Therefore I think it right that we make it one of our priorities for the next 3 months.
