I am the Chief Inspector with responsibility for community policing across Bassetlaw, Newark and Sherwood.
Given the significant size and geography of the area, I am also proud to lead the force’s work tackling rural and wildlife crime across Nottinghamshire.
Having spent time growing up in Worksop, and living within the area, I am passionate about ensuring our neighbourhood officers are making a tangible, and positive, difference to the lives of our communities across Bassetlaw, Newark and Sherwood.
I am committed to ensuring we listen to you, act upon your concerns and articulate the results we are achieving. I have served for 28 years, across disciplines including major crime investigation and public order policing, and am able to bring a range of skills and experience to help guide our dedicated staff to improve the quality of life for residents, business owners and visitors of this wonderful part of the county.
I am the District Commander for Bassetlaw. I joined Nottinghamshire Police in 2014, spending my first 6 years as a Response officer in Newark. During this time, I was one of our first frontline taser officers and a tutor constable, guiding and supporting a number of new probationary police officers to independent patrol.
In 2020 I joined the Neighbourhood Policing Team as a beat manager for Newark town centre. During this time I was commended for work in reducing antisocial behaviour.
In 2021 I was promoted to Sergeant on the Neighbourhood Policing Team, managing a team of 14 officers. I also gained further skills and qualifications such as a Wildlife Crime Officer and 4x4 driver. In 2023 I was awarded the Force Operation of the Year for Operation Swift, a national operation focussing on reducing green space crime and ASB.
In 2024 I was promoted to Temporary Inspector and currently manage the three Bassetlaw Neighbourhood Policing Teams.
