    Action taken:

  • Priority:

City Central Priorities – July – September 2026

•Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) for all areas
•Acquisitive crime – Burglary, Auto crime and Shop Thefts

    How priorities are chosen:

The priorities for the City Central Neighbourhood Team are reviewed every three months through a multi-agency meeting. This is attended by:
    •Neighbourhood Policing Inspector and Sergeants
•Nottingham City Council Housing Services Officer
•Nottingham City Council ASB Enforcement Officer
•Nottingham City Council Neighbourhood Safety Officer
    During this meeting, partners review:
•Crime and intelligence data held by Nottinghamshire Police
•Data from the Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office
•Community feedback gathered via the ‘What Matters’ survey through the Notts Alert system
This combined approach ensures that the selected priorities reflect the concerns that matter most to our communities.
These priorities do not detract from other policing responsibilities, either locally or across the force.

    Issued 28 June 2026

    Action taken:

These priorities have been chosen local policing priorities for City Central for the following reasons.

Anti-Social Behaviour: All forms of ASB for all areas.

We have made significant progress in reducing ASB across the City Central area, with a noticeable decrease compared to the same period last year. However, maintaining this momentum remains a key focus.
    Our approach includes:
•Continued engagement with the student community through the University Policing Team
    •Hosting Campus Conversation events to:
    oEnsure students feel supported
    oPromote awareness of support services
oEncourage positive behaviour within the wider community

We will also continue to target drug-related activity, which is closely linked to ASB. Over the past three months:
•Numerous drug warrants have been executed
    •Several arrests have been made
•Class A and Class B drugs have been seized

Drug dealing has a significant negative impact on local communities. Therefore, whenever drugs, cash, or related items are identified, we will ensure thorough investigation and enforcement action.

Acquisitive Crime: Burglary, Auto Crime and Shop Theft

There has been a continued increase in:
    •Residential burglary
    •Auto crime
    •Shop theft

To address this, Operation Arriving has been implemented, focusing resources on the areas most affected.
    Key activity includes:

    •Targeted days of action

    •A combination of:
    oProactive policing
    oHigh-visibility patrols
    oTargeted arrests of prolific offenders

•Community engagement, particularly around crime prevention advice

We will maintain a proactive, partnership-led approach, working closely with local agencies to:
    •Reduce crime and ASB
    •Support victims and communities
•Provide practical advice to help prevent crime
Further days of action and targeted operations are planned to ensure continued progress against these priorities.

This work has already resulted in multiple arrests, and enforcement activity will continue.
