I am Chief Inspector for the City Neighbourhoods and am responsible for local Policing in the City areas.
I have been a Police officer for 22 years and have worked in a number of departments throughout that time, ranging from CID, SOC, Special Branch, Intelligence and Neighbourhood Policing.
City North Strategic Priorities: July 2026 to September 2026 inclusive
Our partners have assisted us in reinforcing our Local Policing Priorities that effect and concern the community. These priorities do not replace those agreed at the NAT meetings, nor those defined through the respect survey, in fact this reinforces and compliments them.
Every three months sees a renewing of the three priorities we should have each quarter, we have focussed on what matters to our communities, we agreed to set and review the top 3 main priorities. The meeting to discuss these priorities is held every 3 months, and is attended by Local Neighbourhood Safety officers, Police, Nottingham City Council Anti-Social Behaviour Principle officer, also the Community Protection Team, to look at data provided by the Nottinghamshire Police Crime Commissioners Office, following perception surveys they conduct of the area around gaining local community concerns.
I have purposely and holistically looked to include those priorities concerning our community, these do NOT detract from other priorities such as, Auto crime, speeding, Thefts and several others including nuisance and littering.
We discuss, local community feedback provided to us by the Neighbourhood Development officers, which allows us to be more informed.
The agreed Priorities for the next 3 months, July 2026 to September 2026 inclusive.
1.Acquisitive Crime: (Burglary, Robbery, Shoplifting, Theft).
2.Drugs (Possession, Possession with intent to supply, cultivation of cannabis)
3. ASB (Including motorcycle / behavioural / speeding / begging)

July 2026 Update
There has been a significant amount of work carried out in the area tackling the priorities. Earlier in the year, you will have no doubt seen reports of ASB, criminal damage and intimidation around Southglade Park and Leisure Centre with large groups gathering. As a result, 35 individuals have been visited and issued with warning letters. Where these individuals are tenants of Nottingham City Council Housing Services (NCCHS) properties, the visit was carried out jointly with NCCHS and implications of behaviour on their tenancies explained. An engagement day is planned for mid-August. There have also been some significant drugs arrests made with properties which were being used to facilitate dealing and targeting of vulnerable individuals closed down or secured.
Drugs warrants were executed in Bulwell and other parts of the City, jointly with colleagues in Derbyshire Police tackling drug supply. A significant quantity of drugs and cash were recovered and two males charged and remanded with drug supply offences.
In Sherwood, there is ongoing work to tackle shop theft offences and drug dealing. Warrants have been executed and work continues to address this.
