Following consultation with Gedling Borough Council we have adopted the following three policing priorities for the area;
1. Fatal Four - Driving offences most likely to lead to death or serious injury on the roads (seatbelts, drink diving, speeding and mobile phone use). We are regularly contacted about concerns from members of the public and councillors of speeding vehicles. In addition during the month of December the force will have its annual drink drive campaign therefore we would particularly like to focus on this issue.
2. Use of motor vehicles in an antisocial manner, particularly those 'Car Cruising'. We have had numerous concerns raised to us about so called 'car cruisers or boy racers' driving in antisocial and often dangerous ways on our roads. Under Operation Triplefin the team will target those individuals to educate as well as enforce to reduce this issue for the community.
3. Drug Supply - We continue to receive concerns from the community on the supply of illicit substances and the related crime and ASB. We will develop lines of intelligence to target those responsible for the supply of controlled drugs and look to divert, support and where necessary prosecute those with a substance misuse issue.
