Gedling Policing Priorities Jan - Apr 2025
Anti Social Behaviour:
Through consultation with partners, analysis of the PCC crime survey and feedback from our community the issue of ASB caused by young people in the centre of Arnold has been highlighted, including low level criminal offences, such as criminal damage. This has been identified as a problem by members of the public and businesses in the locality.
Issued 28 December 2024
* Regular patrols by NPT - your teams will be in the area to deter offences and to speak to the community and reassure where needed.
* Outreach youth work - an externally funded team will be engaging with young people who are in the area, in an attempt to steer them away from committing ASB or criminal offences
* Environmental changes supported by Gedling Borough Council - a report has been completed which has identified areas for improvement as a way to reduce crime and ASB. Police are working with the Council to put some of these measures in place to improve the area

Vehicle ASB:
Through analysis of crime, consultation with partners in our Multi agency Problem Solving meeting, the PCC crime survey and feedback from our community we have identified that there are a number of meeting points for large car meets within the Gedling area, and that when large groups of drivers meet up, there is an increase in anti social behaviour and vehicle related nuisance.
Issued 28 December 2024
* Increased NPT patrols - the local NPT will be patrolling more regularly in the hotspot areas to deter potential car meets
* Collaborative working with partners for problem solving/environmental changes - this will includ installing barriers to prevent access to certain areas as well as possible traffic calming methods
