The team continues to proactively target offenders responsible for burglary, theft and other acquisitive crime offences through a combination of plain clothes deployments, intelligence-led activity and specialist operations.
On 4 July, a successful plain clothes operation resulted in:
•One arrest for burglary
•One arrest for eight shop theft offences
This activity received positive media coverage through Nottinghamshire Police social media channels, the Newark Advertiser and Radio Newark, helping to reassure the public and demonstrate ongoing enforcement activity.
Operation ANGELINE – 24 June 2026
Rural patrols were conducted in hotspot locations identified through recent reports of fuel thefts from farms. The operation focused on prevention, disruption and intelligence gathering, with a number of vehicles identified through the use of positive CCTV opportunities. Enquiries remain ongoing.
Operation MIMICAL ANPR Day – 8 July 2026
An ANPR operation was conducted targeting vehicles linked to serious acquisitive crime and drug-related offending. The activity provided reassurance within affected areas and contributed to intelligence gathering and disruption activity.
The team will continue to utilise intelligence-led patrols, plain clothes operations, ANPR deployments and targeted enforcement opportunities to identify and disrupt offenders responsible for acquisitive crime across the district.
